Join us every Tuesday Morning 10:00 am – Noon, beginning November 5.
Toddler Tuesday programs run seasonally November -March and is designed for young children and their families. Discounted admission applies only to families with children ages 0-2 present. (Families with children ages 3-5 are eligible for the Whirligigs Preschool drop-off class). Program begins November 5, 2013 and ends March 25, 2013.
Each week Aquarium educators create a new activity station to match the monthly theme. Toddler Tuesday is self-guided, there is no class to attend, so families are welcome to explore the Aquarium, visit the activity center for 2 minutes or 10 minutes, and join us at 11:00 am to see our daily Great Fish, Great Lakes program (often with SCUBA divers hand feeding the fish).
November: Birds – Each week in November visit with the Birds of Great Lakes Aquarium. Learn more about feathers, flight and beaks.
December: Fish – With fish from all over the Great Lakes and the world, join us weekly to dive in each week to learn about life under water.
January: Mammals – From warm fur to hibernation, this month experience a different part of mammal life each week.
February: Reptiles - February will feature some of our cold blooded favorites, reptiles! Each week learn about snakes, turtles and characteristics of reptiles.
March: Amphibians/Signs of Spring – Winter is coming to an end. This month explore amazing Amphibians and what signs of spring are ahead.
Toddler Tuesday Rates:
Children ages 0-2 – Always FREE
Adults (w/toddler ages 0-2) – $6
Children/siblings (w/toddler) – $4

Whirligigs Preschool Program
This program runs four sessions throughout the year. Whirligigs meet weekly for a 1.5 hour class. Our experienced educators provide a safe and inviting space to explore the natural world. Activities are age appropriate and engaging. The Whirligigs program is a drop off program open to potty trained children ages 3 –5. Pre-registration is required. Sign your child up for a few classes or for the whole season.
Winter 2014 Whirligigs
Winter class registration begins December 16, 2013. Download the winter Whirligigs flyer here.
Classes will run eight weeks January 7/8 through February 25/26. Join us this winter to explore groups of animals living around Great Lakes Aquarium! Investigate animals animals with no bones in their bodies, five groups of vertebrates and animal habitats.
Spring 2014 Whirligigs
Spring class registriaon begins February 23, 2014.
Spring session will have six class, beginning March 18/19 and run through April 22/23. Check back for class dates and topics in February.

Polliwogs Kindergarten Program
This, once a week, summer program for Kindergarten Graduates challenges young naturalists to take a closer look at the world around them. Join us in the classroom, around the Aquarium and behind the scenes for a summer adventure! Polliwogs will begin again June 2014. Check back for class date and topics, and registration date for Spring of 2014.
