This program runs four sessions throughout the year. Whirligigs meet weekly for a 1.5 hour class. Our experienced educators provide a safe and inviting space to explore the natural world. Activities are age appropriate and engaging. The Whirligigs program is a drop off program open to potty trained children ages 3 –5. Pre-registration is required. Sign your child up for a few classes or for the whole season.

Polliwogs Kindergarten Program
This, once a week, summer program for Kindergarten Graduates challenges young naturalists to take a closer look at the world around them. Join us in the classroom, around the Aquarium and behind the scenes for a summer adventure!

GO Outdoors: Free Jeffers Foundation Workshop for Parents on July 19 from 3:00-4:00
Great Lakes Aquarium will welcome the Jeffers Foundation as they present the GO Outdoors activity cards with fun ideas for seasonal outdoor activities that are fun, easy and help children build experiences that relate to classroom learning.
Appropriate for parents of toddlers, preschoolers, and early school-age children.
Parents that attend will receive:
- A set of GO Cards
- A Parents’ Guide to Nature Play
- A family Jeffers Journal
- A magnifying glass and water bottle for each child
Come and get great ideas to share a great summer with your child—OUTDOORS!
