Physical features:
Muted olive green with bright reddish streak behind eye. Oval carapace with weak keel.
Habitat:
Waters with soft, muddy bottoms. Like to bask on logs, rocks, or stumps.
Diet:
Aquatic insects, fish, snails, tadpoles, crawfish, crustaceans, mollusks, plants.
Fun facts:
When basking sites are small, sliders will stack up on top of each other three feet high.
