Physical features:
Mottled brown or yellow in color with a single barbel on the lower jaw. Fins are extended and are continuous across the dorsal and ventral sides of the fish.
Habitat:
Prefers deep dark cold waters and structure such as rocks, logs or plants for shelter.
Diet:
Varied. Known to eat anything from fish to frogs to insects.
Fun facts:
Burbot, also called Eelpout are the only member of the Cod family in the Great Lakes.
