The Great Lakes Aquarium Discovery Center and Manley Goldfine Teacher Resource Center are community resources. They opening in July 2015 with broad support from businesses, municipalities, charitable giving programs and individuals. The Minnesota Power Foundation was a particularly strong supporter and lead donor on the project.
What is the Discovery Center?
This flexible space can be used as three individual classrooms and meeting rooms or as a large venue for 100 people.
The Aquarium’s education program utilizes the classrooms to engage youth and adults of all ages. It is home to the weekly Whirligigs Preschool Program and welcomes teachers as part of the Science Institute.
The Discovery Center has also hosted conferences, board meetings, training sessions, birthday parties, weddings and class reunions.
