Icy blue stares from powerful, determined animals will be on display at Great Lakes Aquarium for a popular, returning art gallery exhibit. Images of the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon kicks off with an opening reception on Sunday, January 22 from 1 to 4pm in the Aquarium’s Merrill Lynch Fine Arts Gallery. Entry to the gallery only is free and light refreshments will be served.
The collection features winning shots from last year’s John Beargrease Photo Contest, plus dozens of other candid images taken along the trail and at checkpoints. In total 29 photographers submitted nearly 60 images for the show.
Twin Cities’ photographer Kyle Krohn is the curator and mastermind of the photography show. Krohn, who lives in the Twin Cities, has been capturing images at the Beargrease since 1990. This is the 7th year of the Beargrease photo exhibit at the Aquarium. The show will run through March 12.
