Duluth Summer Coupon Deal includes Aquarium, Trains, Vista Fleet

May 24, 2017 13 Comments

Duluth is fast becoming the summer tourist city in Minnesota. With moderate June to September temperatures and plenty to do and see, there’s no better time to pack up the family and head north for the weekend. But how do you do it all and stay on budget? The Must See Duluth pass is your answer.

This discounted package includes access to Duluth’s three top attractions for less than the price of two: Great Lakes Aquarium, the North Shore Scenic Railroad and Vista Fleet. Valid throughout the entire 2017 season (May to October), the pass allows visitors to park once and enjoy all three in the span of a day…or spread out your visits over the course of a week or even multiple visits.  You can purchase tickets online at www.mustseeduluth.com or at each of the participating attractions. And the discounts are significant.  2017 Must See Duluth prices are just $36 per adult and $16 per child.

Here’s a bit of what you’ll experience with the Must See Duluth pass.

Energized aquatic life fills exhibits and tanks at one of only freshwater-focused aquariums in the U.S., Great Lakes Aquarium.

See animal ambassadors from the Great Lakes basin including playful, engaging river otters and giant lake sturgeon as well as a variety of colorful coral reef fish and a resident zebra shark in Shipwrecks Alive!
New in 2016, Unsalted Seas explores large lakes of the world and features the largest sturgeon touch tank in North America.

The Vista Fleet navigates the Lake Superior harbor accompanied by tour guides speaking to Duluth’s history and the ecological environment of North America’s largest great lake. Learn about famous local landmarks as well as the nature below the surface while enjoying breathtaking views on this 105 minute cruise.

Weaving through woodlands, past the Lester River and many historic cornerstone buildings in Duluth, and along the Lake Superior shoreline, the 90 minute journey on the Duluth Zephyr is a ride for all ages.

There are several blackout dates to consider when planning your trip. The Must See Duluth pass is not valid at the Vista Fleet during July 4th and Labor Day weekends.  Train restrictions are August 4-6 and 11-13. There are no restrictive dates at the Aquarium.

Are these passes good to use in 2017?

    • Allison Iacone says:

Hi, Melanie. We will reopen sales for the Must See Duluth pass in 2017. Currently we have halted sales in house and will be closing down sales on the website now if it hasn’t been done already.
Generally we sell passes on a year to year basis…meaning a ticket sold in 2016 is not good for 2017. The trains and Vista Fleet are currently on hiatus until May of 2017.
      Thank you for reaching out.

      • Melanie says:

I am sorry to hear this. I was planning buying 6 tickets for my children as a gift for Christmas. Thank you

      • Gina Wright says:

There’s still no coupons for the train as of today.

        • Allison Iacone says:

The Must See Duluth Pass is a ticket that gets you access to all three attractions; a train ride on the North Shore Scenic Railroad, a boat ride on the Vista Fleet and admission to Great Lakes Aquarium. You don’t need any additional coupon for an individual attraction. Find the tickets at http://www.mustseeduluth.com or buy them at the Ticketing desk at any of the three attractions.

  • Debbie Maurer says:

Will these tickets be available August 7 – 10, 2017?

    • Sarah Erickson says:

Hi Debbie, Yes, they will be available through September 2017.

    • Sarah Erickson says:

      Hi Debbie,

Yes, these tickets will be available through September 2017.

    • Allison Iacone says:

Debbie, They are available for use Aug 7 to 10. However, the North Shore Scenic Railroad is hosting a Thomas the Train event both the weekend before and weekend after these dates and are not running Must See Duluth trains those weekends. During the week you will be able to ride the train with your pass. I’m just mentioning this in the event that your trip ends up running into the weekend. We hope you enjoy your visit.

  • Nate Williams says:

Where can i find departure times for the railroad and cruise trips included on this pass? It would be good info to post for clients looking to plan their day.

    • Allison Iacone says:

The general schedule has the Vista cruises running at 9:55am and 2:25pm daily (until after Labor Day when Vista will only run the afternoon cruise on weekdays). The railroad runs 12:30pm daily with an additional 3pm trip on the weekends.
It is highly encouraged to call both attractions ahead of time (either the day before or earlier in the day of your desired rides) to get your names on the reservation lists. Both the Vista Fleet and North Shore Scenic Railroad have their own websites with phone numbers, posted daily times and any changes to the typical schedule. ***NOTE: Tuesdays have been especially busy at the Vista when the cruise service offers a different daily special.
