Waves Teen Club

Great Lakes Aquarium is excited to announce the new summer teen club, Waves! Students entering grades 9-12 will spend the summer making Waves in their community through art, science, literature, survival skills, and service-oriented activities.

Teaming with organizations like Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory, Sax Zim Bog, Boulder Lake Environmental Learning Center, and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Waves Teen Club will be climbing aboard a research vessel to collect plankton samples, paddling to Wood Duck nest boxes to document occupancy, testing our survival skills with fire building, navigation, and rope tying, and so much more! We will also work with a local artist to paint some of the animals that live at Great Lakes Aquarium. Get ready to spend the summer immersed in your community with like-minded peers and environmental leaders throughout the Twin Ports. Participants will need to provide their own lunch and snacks.

Dates: Wednesdays, June 12- August 28 (no Waves July 3)

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Cost: FREE
