Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to visit?

September through March! Education programs are offered year-round but programs are almost always sold out April through June.

How far in advance should I make a reservation?

Planning ahead helps us provide your group with the best educational experience. For the self-guided experience, 48 hours advance notice is required to receive the special rate. If you plan to dive in deeper with a class please contact us at least two weeks in advance. We will always try to accommodate groups but remember that certain times of the year fill quickly.

How do I register?

It’s easy! Just fill out the registration form, and we will contact you to finalize your visit.

Is there a minimum group size?

Groups of all sizes are welcome. Call us to to find out about pricing for groups of various sizes and types.

Can we eat lunch there?

You may bring your own bag lunches to eat in our lobby or outside when the weather is nice. Please ask about lunch space when making your reservation as indoor space is limited.

How and when do I pay?

You can pay by cash, check or credit card, and you may also bring a purchase order and be billed later.

Please be prepared with an accurate count of the number of students, chaperones, and teachers (including paraprofessionals and other school staff) in your group to help things go smoothly.

How much does it cost?

  • Teachers and school staff: FREE
  • Students: $5
  • Adult Chaperones: 1 free chaperone per 5 paid students; additional chaperones $5

Chaperones who are Aquarium members may choose to admit themselves separate from the school group and use their membership for free admission. It is up to the lead teacher to make careful note of this in your head count at the time of payment.

Students who are Aquarium members may not be admitted for free under their membership; field trips are more involved experiences than a family visit to the Aquarium. We are committed to welcoming as many learners as possible to the Aquarium and keep field trip prices as low as possible to reflect that vision while retaining the resources and staff necessary to make your Aquarium visit successful!
